The CIM Cambridge branch organised the Cambridge Digital Marketing Conference yesterday, 10 July 2008 at Robinson College in Cambridge. A packed audience found out more about social media and the future of marketing as it becomes digital. The event covered mash-ups, podcasting, social media , buddy beacon, what a good bounce rate is, customer centric copy and eye tracking.
Michael’s key messages were
- The audience is 4 years ahead of the marketing fraternity
- Interactive media is full of unexpected results
- Adverts no longer drive sales, they drive ‘consideration to purchase’
Karen shared some practical information about podcasting. We will do a separate blog on Karen’s invention the ‘5Ps of podcasting’ another time.
Dave Chaffey took the marketers through 20 practical web design tips to improve the results from your website. The only pity was that he was the last speaker and a few people had to get trains [or like me had a 2.5 hour drive to get to another event…] See below for the whole presentation:
An excellent event, well done Cambridge CIM team.
